Without question, the 2006 holiday season will go down in history as (in the fond words of the Xbox Community) Gears of Christmas.  Anticipation for Gears of War, an Xbox 360 exclusive video game, was at a fever pitch. 

To give Xbox fans a chance to be first to actually get their hands on the game, Xbox Canada hosted an exclusive preview community event.  Held at an old church, the venue was the perfect back drop for the destroyed beauty theme of Gears of War.  Keeping the event to just 50 lucky people, the Gears of War community preview “sold out” in just a few hours. Fans were treated to first looks at the final game and the chance to meet other Xbox community members in a casual, interactive setting. 

The event successfully entrenched Gears of War and the Xbox brand with the Canadian Xbox community…the game has since become one of the best selling Xbox games of all time.
