High Road at the top of its game in Quebec

PR Agency expands its interactive entertainment roster and ventures to the Game Developers Conference

MONTREAL, March 23, 2007 ? High Road Communications, a North American public relations firm serving technology and digital lifestyle companies, announced today that it continues to expand in the interactive entertainment sector with the addition of three new Quebec clients to its roster.

Leading 3D animation software developer Softimage, software publisher Eidos Interactive and Humagade, a developer of handheld and mobile games, recently selected High Road to conduct North American public relations. With the announcements, High Road further builds on its established reputation as a valuable public relations resource within the gaming industry.
Following Softimage’s very successful press relations partnership with High Road during the Montreal International Game Summit from fall 2006, the company again engaged the agency to assist with its North American media relations at GDC. The annual event attracts over 12,500 attendees annually and provides educational, networking, and business opportunities for game development professionals driving the $11 billion videogame industry.

“To help Softimage communicate its 20 years as a 3D software leader and engage international and local Québec press, we were impressed by the credentials of High Road, and hired them to help us tell our story in October at the 2006 Montreal International Games Summit (MIGS). They know the industry inside out, have the right contacts and consistently deliver great results. It was an easy decision to select High Road again for the 2007 Game Developers Conference. This agency is world class all the way,” said Kevin G. Clark, Manager, Global Marketing and Communications, Softimage.

For Quebec-City based Humagade, High Road was also the agency of choice to raise the company’s profile in the media. Selected as a finalist to the first round of Telefilm Canada’s Great Video Game Competition, Humagade sought to generate visibility for its game concept Tamano prior to the competition, which took place during GDC. With High Road’s support, the company has managed to attract attention of key gaming media and secured coverage in both Canada and the U.S.

Earlier in February, High Road was selected by Eidos Interactive, one of the world’s leading publishers and developers of entertainment software, to announce the opening of a new studio to be located in Montreal. The joint announcement was made with Investment Quebec during a news conference that included Québec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade Raymond Bachand, and attracted significant interest from media across North America.

“The gaming industry is evolving extremely quickly, and Montreal is at the forefront of that change. This booming scene is an amazing playground for us to create and execute powerful, on the mark strategies that deliver true results for our local clients,” said Nathalie Bergeron, Vice President, High Road Communications.
