High Road Communications is a Great Place to Work® and is recognized for this achievement on the Canadian Business 2007 "Best Workplaces in Canada" list
TORONTO, April 24, 2007 – High Road Communications, an award-winning public relations firm serving technology and digital lifestyle companies, announced today that it is being recognized in Canadian Business magazine as one of the “Best Workplaces in Canada” for 2007.
High Road’s culture of collaboration and empowerment encourages every team member – regardless of their role within the firm – to leverage their passion and creativity to drive change and fresh thinking with our company and clients. It was founded over a decade ago with a vision of creating a workplace where individuals can not only build a rewarding and challenging career, but also be a part of a communications team that is shaping the future of public relations.
High Road truly values the contribution each team member makes to the company and is focused on investing back. It provides staff with over 80 hours of training per year, annual ski and golf days, sabbatical programs at key milestones, and paid volunteer days to give back to our community. The company also focuses significant resources on team building activities including an annual off-site event, bi-weekly Friday social gatherings and creativity and team building days.
“It has always been our vision to create the best place to work in the industry – a place where people can build their careers, be recognized for outstanding performance and look back on their time with the company as the most rewarding in their career,” said Mia Wedgbury, President and Co-founder, High Road Communications. “Maintaining a collaborative culture and commitment to lifelong learning is a key focus for our company and one that fuels unmatched passion, creativity and drive in our entire team.”
This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled for Canadian Business magazine by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 57-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
More than 20,000 employees participated in the 2007 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey.
